Austin, Texas – May 23, 2026 — Sting Austin has been acquired by FC Westlake to form the premier youth soccer club in Central Texas and provide a large player foundation and complete pathway for all our current and future players on both the boys & girls sides of the club.

“This unification represents a massive step forward for the youth soccer community in Central Texas”, said Sting CEO Brent Coralli. “By combining our staff, facilities, and operational strengths, we are bolstering the foundation to form a stronger club that will serve everyone from beginners to elite players looking for collegiate and professional pathways.”

This strategic acquisition strengthens FC Westlake’s position as the premier youth soccer organization in Central Texas, offering access to our programming in several new locations next season. FC Westlake will now offer participation in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) for girls, creating a fully integrated elite pathway for all our players and completing the mission set forth several years ago when we started down the ECNL pathway.

In addition to ECNL girls, we will operate two ECNL Regional League (ECNL-RL) girls programs within the Texas Conference. One ECNL-RL program will be based in North Austin, while the second will serve Central and South Austin, ensuring broader access to high-level competition and development opportunities across the region.

“This is a transformational moment for our club and Austin soccer,” said Stephen Ferguson, Executive Director of FC Westlake. “The addition of Sting Austin allows us to expand our programming at all levels in North Austin, along with laying the foundation to build the top ECNL girls program in Central Texas. Sting Austin has built a strong culture and tradition, and we are committed to honoring and growing that legacy.”

Additionally, Stephen stated, “I’d also like to thank Sting’s leadership team for working through this complicated process over the last year to make it a reality. They have truly shown a commitment to growing opportunities for all their current players and families, recognizing the benefits of FC Westlake moving the club forward.”

Both Clubs are currently in the process of transitioning, and Sting teams will continue to operate under the Sting name through the end of the 2025-26 season, with full integration by the start of the 2026-27 campaign. Tryouts for the newly integrated clubs will take place in May.

Current member families will receive direct communication detailing the transition process, and FC Westlake leadership will conduct individual team meetings over the next two weeks to provide more details and answer any questions.
